Probabilistic modelling of security of supply in gas networks and evaluation of new infrastructure
نویسندگان
چکیده
The paper presents a probabilistic model to study security of supply in a gas network. The model is based on Monte-Carlo simulations with graph theory, and is implemented in the software tool ProGasNet. The software allows studying gas networks in various aspects including identification of weakest links and nodes, vulnerability analysis, bottleneck analysis, evaluation of new infrastructure etc. In this paper ProGasNet is applied to a benchmark network based on a real EU gas transmission network of several countries with the purpose of evaluating the security of supply effects of new infrastructure, either under construction, recently completed or under planning. The probabilistic model enables quantitative evaluations by comparing the reliability of gas supply in each consuming node of the network. & 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. Security-Based Co-Expansion Planning of Gas and Electricity Networks Considering Demand Response
Coordinated expansion planning of power plants has always attracted the attention of power industry planners to arrive at the optimal mix that assures adequacy of energy supply. Here, we model the coordinates for expansion of electricity and gas networks while considering technical constraints, in order to minimize the total cost of investment and operation of electricity and gas networks for a...
متن کاملProbabilistic Contaminant Source Identification in Water Distribution Infrastructure Systems
Large water distribution systems can be highly vulnerable to penetration of contaminant factors caused by different means including deliberate contamination injections. As contaminants quickly spread into a water distribution network, rapid characterization of the pollution source has a high measure of importance for early warning assessment and disaster management. In this paper, a methodology...
متن کاملAssessing the risk of crisis in gas distribution networks using the FAHP-PROMETHEE II method (Case study of Qazvin Province Gas Company)
Background and Aims: Natural gas is one of the most important energy sources used today in urban communities as cheap and hazardous energy. In this regard, if the government and organizations do not pay attention to the proper infrastructure for gas installations, it will create irreparable risks for that society. The assessment and management of crisis in the various processes can play a key r...
متن کاملA Fire Ignition Model and Its Application for Estimating Loss due to Damage of the Urban Gas Network in an Earthquake
Damage of the urban gas network due to an earthquake can cause much loss including fire-induced loss to infrastructure and loss due to interruption of gas service and repairing or replacing of network elements. In this paper, a new fire ignition model is proposed and applied to a conventional semi-probabilistic model for estimating various losses due to damage of an urban gas network in an eart...
